ORGANIZATION
The Woodland School is a Virginia nonprofit corporation organized to operate an early childhood education center. See our by-laws here.
GOVERNANCE
The School is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Program Director serves as a voting ex-officio Trustee under the bylaws.
LICENSING
The School plans to operate as a licensed child care center in the Commonwealth of Virginia before beginning classroom operations.
ACCESS
The School plans to pursue Virginia child-care subsidy-provider participation and, subject to available funding, need-based tuition assistance.
FEDERAL TAX-EXEMPT STATUS
The Woodland School is a Virginia nonprofit corporation and has applied for recognition of federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. While the application is pending, donors do not have advance assurance that contributions are tax deductible. If the IRS approves a timely filed application and recognizes the School’s exemption for the period in which a contribution was made, qualifying contributions may be deductible subject to applicable law. Please consult your tax adviser regarding your individual circumstances.
